A chance encounter with a research scientist at my last destination sent me on a journey to the beloved islands I call home, scattered to the very north of Scotland.

Imagine my surprise when, on landing, I found the islands to be far colder and rather more barren than I recalled. It was only then I discovered I was at entirely the wrong end of the globe! Much amusement at my misunderstanding.

Nevertheless, I am busying my days rather nicely helping the scientists carry out their research.

I was engaged in rather much merriment at my last destination that regretfully I am too late to enjoy the celebration that bore this very island it's name.

No tremendous loss. I shall see where my travels take me and perhaps in eight months I shall return again.

I always had a fancy for myself as a time-traveller, ever since as a young child I read the works of H. G. Wells and dreamed of visiting the future.

Never did I dream it could happen, but there is indeed a place on this world where one hour east on a boat allows a person to travel slightly less that one full day into the future.

Astonishing.
